Yeah I have to say the 34 isn't as polished as the 24's. I've had it since Friday and the response time is slow from the remote, I set a remote record that didn't record, and the 30skip sometimes reverts back to slip. So far not impressed. Reminds me of the slow 21's I had years ago.

I reset the 34 to hopefully fix the sluggish behavior and now it can only see one of my other 3 hr-24's. Took a 45 minute call Friday to correct that. When I get back home I'll reset all dvr's and have them send another hit. That worked Friday.

Hopefully the progress bar appearing with 30SKIP should be remedied in the next software update.

Do a "Keyword Search" for "30SKIP" to enable the instant 30-sec skip feature, or for "30SLIP" to enable the default 30-sec slip (FF) feature.

I notice the 30skip keyword has to be rerun every time you do a restart/reset on the HR34.

Huskerhead, I just got my HR-34 installed and I'm having trouble on each of my three HR-24's when I try to play a program that was recorded on the HR-34. I get one of two error messages. The first says that the HR-34 is already playing back too many programs the other says that no packets were received. I've spent an hour on the phone, tried resetting all the receivers. They sent a tech back out on a roll-back. After two hours he called for help and was told that the HR-34 only works with a total of eight tuners. I have sWim16. Have you had my problems with your set-up?

I haven't had those issues.....yet. But I had the "no packets" sent issue before - I just reset the DVR I was trying to access)The only problem I've had is the inability of the 34 to see the other 24's. The tech yesterday wasn't the brightest and said I needed a new 34; I told him I would troubleshoot some more and it eventually worked (all dvr's see each other again) Pretty sad the flagship receiver has so many issues but I was told the next software release will fix a lot of the issues. I just hope I do not have to reset the 34 again or I'll be going thru all the hoops to get it to see the other dvr's again.
