When you first booted up with the AM21 hooked up did the HR34 give you a pop up about finding an off air tuner?

Ok this is driving me crazy.
I just got an AM21 to use with my HR34 and I can't get things to work. The AM21 has no menus or otherwise that come up on the HR34 so I don't know what the problem is.
USB is plugged between AM21 USB and HR34 USB
Antenna is plugged into AM21 Antenna
Power is looped through AM21 and HR34 as required
Have done Antenna set-up. Process completes.
NO off air channels appear in guide
Edit channels in Antenna set-up is always ghosted.
I've tried multiple USB cables.
I've tried off air digital antennas of different sizes and styles.
Nothing, nothing, nothing.
AM21 is so stupidly simple that it's almost impossible to figure out whats wrong.
HR34 doesn't let you manually scan through channel. Or add all and then edit down. You can't do a signal strength on the off-air channels.

It must have though because I can start a scan. It ask me for zip code for primary and optional secondary markets. It identifies the markets correctly.
Nothing.
Even tried adding a 20dB booster and changing zip codes to something more common and closer to towers. Still see no channels.

Have you tried another reboot after setup?
How do you tune directly? With channel 2 it's Obviously 2 and enter. But how do enter the fractal digital channels.
I don't know if that would work either. As I understand it the HR34 actually scans for channels where all other boxes actually just display based on an area grid wherever or not the channels actually come in.

What channels can you get with your antenna connected directly to your tv? Those should be the same ones you can get with the am21 connected.

I did not receive any popups from the HR34 about the AM21 or OTA tuner but I was able to go in and edit what OTA channels I wanted included in the lineup and also check signal strength from the antenna setup menu. Have you gone into the antenna setup menu yet? That's where you can do all of that and/or do the initial setup again.
I'm having the same issue. Hooked up the AM21N to my HR34. No initial antenna setup menu displayed. There's no antenna setup in any of the menus either. Tried 2 different USB cables. Me being in a MDU (DirecPath) complicates things because I can't just call DirecTV.

If you haven't already, with everything else connected properly (USB from AM21 to HR34, power to AM21, and antenna to AM21), reboot the HR34 by removing the power cable, waiting ten seconds or so, and then plugging it back in.
I've done that too. No dice. I even plugged the antenna directly into the TV to test it.
