Would there be a preferred way to distribute the signal from the SWM16?

Should the 34 be on a two way split with a 24 on out 1 or on out 2? Does it even matter? Or would there be an optimum way to distribute?

Agree with the above post and add that you want the minimal number of splitters.
One way to do that is a 2way splitter feeding an 34 and 24. Then off the other port a 4way splitter for the other 24's.

Do not use an 8 way splitter if you can avoid it.

Thanks fellas. I will pick up a two way tomorrow.

I currently have it on 2 four ways with two ports terminated but expected
to use a two way.

I just wasn't sure if there was a preferred/better way to connect to the SWM 16.

Or if you want WHDVR service now or in the future, depending on where your router/switch is located, perhaps you might want 2 four-ways for enough available splitter ports to run an additional line for a wired CCK.

I do have WHDVR but I disconnected my wired CCK as I am letting the HR34 do the work. I will consider re-introducing if the HR34 does not behave.

So far so good though.

OK, that's why I said depending the location of the router/switch, in reference to the receivers that is.

I myself tried to get the installer to swap out my two wasteful 1 x 8s for 1 x 4s (3 HR2Xs, R22, HR34, CCK, and internet connection for a PC) when he bought out my HR34, but he wouldn't budge.

Said the 1 x 4s were problematic.

Yeah right ...

Needless to say that this in addition to other miscues he made, left with too many receivers on one splitter causing 771B errors and gave me the wrong remote control for the HR34, I gave him an unfavorable rating on the automatic telephone poll. :nono2:

I'd suggest a two-way for the HR34 and one of the HR24s and four-way for the remaining HR24s. This bows to the tuner limit and use of approved splitters without sending any splits into a terminator.
