Ive personally only have done about 10 HR34 systems, all of which are 4 rooms or less.

A guy just went out the other day and claimed the HR34 would not share to the 6 other receivers via a swm 16. I have no reason to believe why this wouldnt work.

They ended up pulling out the 34 and installing a 24. The guy isnt very happy now and has recording conflicts all the time. Using standard swm lnb now.

Now today the customer stopped in and said MRV isnt working with the 24 system....

He used to have dish and claims there isnt any diplexors hidden or still in the system.

So basically the question is the 34 will do mrv to 6 hds right via swm 16?? not all i once i know that, max of 3 hd being streamed.

If the other 6 units are receivers, then 11 total tuners should work. If they are all DVRs, the 17 tuners will not work without some configuring to disable a tuner. Also remember, no more than 8 tuners per side of the SWiM 16

I'm currently setup with MRV enabled and working, a SWM16, an HR34 and 7 DVRs.

The trick to making this work without changing my switch configuration was to reconfigure three DVRs to use only one sat signal each, bringing total tuners from 19 (5 on HR34, 14 on 7 DVRs) to 16 (5 on HR34, 2 each on four DVRs (8) and 1 each on 3 DVRs).

I'm only doing this temporarily while I clean up recordings on two DVRs and then they will be returned to DIRECTV, and then I'll bring all remaining HR2x DVRs back to dual-tuner status, leaving me with 15 tuners active on my SWM16.

If a customer is willing to sacrifice a tuner or two on HR2x DVRs then there are lots of possibilities with a SWM16.

Wow! You thought about replacing some of the HR2x with HR34s?

Absolutely! The new HR34 is already slated to replace the two DVRs I'm returning, but I'd love to get another HR34 so I can retire at least two more DVRs. In my living room that would take me from five DVRs to the two HR34s and I'd be very happy with a lot less wire clutter and heat, and likely even a smaller electric bill. :)
