I tried to search for an answer to this question but most of the links are outdated.
I am adding an HR34 next week and plan to use it, at least initially, on the same TV as my HR 24.
If I set one box and remote to RF and the other to IR that should avoid conflicts shouldn't it?

Yes thats one way. Iuse two remotes both set to RF.

You can also use one remote and set one box to respond to AV1/2.
It's in the menu under remote.

this is what I did, there is a small issue with -100s forcing downloads but over all worked well.
