Don't see this exact issue discussed anywhere...

I have a self-installed SWM5, plus a non-SWM Slimline Dish (all four outputs feeding SWM5). Currently I have an HR20 and HR21 co-located to get 4 tuners available to my only TV. One wire down and split. I have no need for MRV. I have wired Ethernet & 25Mpbs internet service.

If I want to replace the two DVRs with a single HR34 (simplifying system, remote, and reducing HDMI count), am I going to be able to use the SWM5 as is? If I add the AM21, what does that do to the tuner count? Is there any other issue with maxing out the SWM? Will I still need a truck roll?

You should be fine as-is. The AM21 doesn't consume a SWiM Channel, so you're fine there. There's nothing wrong with maxing out the switch.

Don't see this exact issue discussed anywhere...

1) It will work; you will be using 5 tuners and the SWM5 supports 5 tuners
2) Whether DirecTV will let you do it or not is questionable (or maybe the luck of the draw)...
3) They are requiring a truck roll for HR34s (probably to avoid problems with customers who don't know how many tuners they're using, or how they're attached (e.g., tuners on each output of a SWiM-16). If you order one from Solid Signal, they will activate it, no questions asked.
