I just got an HR34 and am curious if and how you set up a future search. What i mean is say i want to record a tv series that only comes on in the summer. so of course it wont show in the guide yet but i want to make sure i set the recorder so that what usually happens which is i forget the show is on till 2nd or 3rd episode.

Thanks allot guys

I'll use an example of a show that I don't think is on right now, and most everyone might have heard of to demonstrate how this could work.

Burn Notice....I think they are currently off-season.

smart search -

BURN NOTICE CCHAN 242 --red button--all-autorecord, set the SL options for first run..

Even if there are no upcoming episodes in the guide data, like a show that is off-season, it will begin recording it when it returns, then if you want, you can setup the SL based on the real show in the guide data.

I frequently do this for the HDNM premieres the ones that we get to see the Wednesday before they are released in the theaters. I'll catch an ad that says "MovieX" will be on March 7th at 8pm. I'll setup up an ARSL as:

MOVIEX CCHAN561, it will record it as well.

What if the movie/show name is really long? Pick one word from the title that is more unique.

I like that. Have to try it. Still prefer Tivo's Wishlists though, since you don't have to set it to auto-record, but it still keeps the search no matter how many more items you search for.
