Thinking about upgrading from 3 SD DirecTivos...

Do the HR34/24's have wireless networking built in? Two of the rooms are not hard wired...

Do the HR34/24's do the dual tuner kind of buffering that the DirecTivos do?

Networking is done through coax.

They have Double Play which is different than DLB. You press the down arrow to activate and then can switch between two tuners. It's not always buffering - you have to activate it. Once activated it will continue to buffer until 2 hours after you've stopped using it, then it won't buffer any longer. On the plus side, it will buffer for 90 minutes, versus the TiVo's 30 minute buffer.
