I thought I read somewhere that hr34 can't see other hr playlists for MRV is that true or is my memory failing me again?

It can see other playlists and other HR's can see the 34's playlist

Both our DVRs display the combined playlist. Each program is either not location titled (meaning it is on the hard drive of the DVR you are using) or in brackets in all caps is the location of the DVR on which it resides, for example [BEDROOM].

Make sure you are looking at all playlists not just the local one. Press list button then yellow button, you will then have the option to filter by playlist--> All or Local Playlist.

I have the 34, a HR22 and HR24 and the threesome play well together MRV-wise. I love the 34, warts and all. Things will get better (and they could be much worse but aren't)

I have had one since they came out in December. I have been VERY pleased with it, in spite of the few problems that it had inititally. The only thing that could make it better is to have an option for collobrative scheduling for other DVR's in the MRV network.

I'm very pleased with the HR34 as well, but there is at least one more thing that could make it better. I would like PIP buttons on the remotes and more PIP features like sound from the PIP.

I have noticed that PIP only works with recordings on the HR34. I can't watch a MRV recording and have the PIP on a live channel at the same time. That is the only MRV functionality that is missing from the HR34 that I think should work.

Collaborative scheduling is not out yet on any HRxx device.

PIP works with a recording or with 2 live channels. As you stated, it won't work when you are watching a recording off a remote DVR. And that would be a nice enhancement to MRV as well.

What do you mean sound from PIP? You don't have any sound when PIP is used?

Right, you can't switch the audio to hear the sound from the Picture In Picture (small window). Most TV's with PIP will allow you to do this. I always used it for sporting events between periods/halftime. I would listen to commentators talk about my teams game from the PIP and watch another game on the full screen.

What you may have read was for RVU capabilities which is the client device will only have access to recorded content on the HR34 and will not see any recorded content on the other receivers.

I am able to switch by using the double play feature which changes the primary (with sound) ...has been working well. I use the side by side PIP
