The PI can't power the -16 through the second [9-16] output.
The SWM#1 can, as is marked, and the PWR connector can.
You seem to have mixed up a DECA issue with a SWiM problem, "unless" I don't understand the TS's post.HoTat2 said:Yep, the PI being too close to the receiver is a typical cause of this problem.
Thought having the PI too close to the receiver due to its internal blocking capacitor could cause issues with either or both as mentioned in your words in the above linked post.veryoldschool said:You seem to have mixed up a DECA issue with a SWiM problem, "unless" I don't understand the TS's post.
Sorry, but that isn't "noise", and you can't "release it" if it was.
What the picture shows, is why you don't want to have the PI with its blocking cap too close to the DECA or for that matter the SWiM. ...
You need to think or related this to the transmitter(s), as that's what has the problem.HoTat2 said:Thought having the PI too close to the receiver due to its internal blocking capacitor could cause issues with either or both as mentioned in your words in the above linked post.
Right...I mixed up the two.veryoldschool said:first off these are backwards.

So now that we've got that straight, can you give some more about the issue?charlestonemt said:Right...I mixed up the two.
Call me chicken, but trying to troubleshoot this over the internet scares the hell out of me with a wireless HDMI link.charlestonemt said:Thanks for the help so far. The other line is, in fact, dead. I just tried moving the power supply back to the open line and nothing.
The only other equipment added is a wireless CCK (to the HR34 setup) and in-line DECA (?) to each of the pre-existing boxes.
I originally thought the pixellation may be due to my wireless HDMI transmitter between my A/V receiver and TV, but 3d blu-ray playback is flawless over the same wireless connection.
The IRD port not terminated, can cause SWiM signal problems, but not a powering the SWiM problem.charlestonemt said:Question - If the PI IRD port wasn't terminated when hooked into the independent coax, could that have been the problem (why nothing was getting power)? Sorry for so many questions...just not sure how all of this works.
Good idea! I'll try that.veryoldschool said:So maybe:
Swap the 34 with another DVR.
Does the 34 have problems in the new location?
Does the swapped DVR have problems in this location?
