I've been waiting for an HR34 until it received the HD GUI and now I see that happened! I have SWM and DECA and MRV and I can make room for 5 tuners if I replace one of my HR22s.

Is the HR34 ready to be the main box in the home?? The recent poll gives me hope but reading the latest firmware thread has me wondering if this box is ready. And, is the 1TB drive big enough or should I just start off with a 2TB external drive?

Connecting the HR34: Just straight out replace one HR22 and I lose the DECA box? I will still be able to MRV to and from the HR34 and my three other HR22s and a HR20?

BTW, I plan on buying the unit myself so I can avoid the "professional" install.

Also, how is the speed of the HR34 compared to the HR20? I use the HR20-700 as my main interface to my MRV network.

Is it ready for prime time? For most it probably is, but the firmware is not as mature as it is on the HR2x series. I have 2TB externals on my HR2x models, so if you like to record a lot and have room to spare, I would highly recommend starting off with the 2TB.
