I currently have 3 DVR's (2-HR22-100, 1 HR24-500) and two H series units. I am wondering if there would be any advantage of getting an HR34. I already have 6 tuners with my 3 DVRS. Would it be a cleaner operation? Just curious about it, thats all.
Not sure there is any upside to doing this. I guess I could replace my two HR22's with the H series but then I would lose my ability to pause live TV in those rooms...

Not having to deal with three to do lists and series managers that can only be managed locally. You'd lose 50 series links.

You'd gain one DVR that can do 100 series links, three MRV streams simultaneously and PIP.

And if you ever have a problem and need it replaced, you're guaranteed to not get a HR21.

2 months ago I added a 34 to my HR24-500 and HR22. Am planning on getting rid of the 22 once the 34 SW has firmed up.
Am presently double recording most programs (34 and either the 24 or 22) just to be sure. Am EXTREMELY happy with the 34, warts and all.

I would like a HR34, but they are wanting me to pay $199 for one. Yet if I was a new customer, I'd only pay $99. So after 3 years of being a customer, a person who has no record of paying their bill on time gets a better deal than me.

One question. So I have two DVR's right now that I paid $99 each upfront. And I pay $6 per month to use these receivers. But if I upgrade to the HR34, I am going to have to send one of these back correct? I don't have another TV to move the receiver, so I wouldn't use it. So why do we pay money up front for receivers? We are not buying them. And we pay a monthly fee to use the box too. This seems to be the only thing cable has right over DTV/Dish.

Well my one HR22-100is dying but my question is: If I would replace it with an HR34 with its five tuners, would my current DECA MRV system support it Currently I have the 16 channel SWM connected to all 4 lines from my dish. Then I have one 8 way and one 4 way splitter that feed my six receivers. 2-HR22-100, 1-HR24-500, 2-H25 and 1-H21.
One of my HR22 is dying, it over heats and I have a fan on it and now it sounds like the drive is making noise so I thought i would ask D to replace it with an HR-34. I guess then Id have a total of 11 tuners. Would that make any sense?

One more question, if I go this route, should the HR-34 be placed where my router is or doesnt it matter?

Kevin, would my chances be better for the $200 if I am asking D for it as a replacement for my one dying HR22-100?

I hate to ask but what is a CCK. Currently I have my modem and router in my bedroom and it connects there with my HR22-100 and two decca units. It would not be my plan to place the HR34 there but I could if I had to

Cinema Connection Kit, a way to connect the DECA cloud to the Internet. You really can put the HR34 anywhere. If you want them to have an Internet connection, you'd either need a wireless CCK, a wired one, or use the HR34s network jack. Or an external DECA with an ac adapter.

Yep, I have the two Deca units with my HR22 in my bedroom and all connected up to my router and AC adapter for power. I would prefer to put the HR34 in my "home theater" family room. Also, I dont want to lose what I have now, were all my HR's can see each other and my my 3 "H" units can see and use the HR units.
