Hello, I have an HR44-500 with an external hdd since the internal broke a few months ago. For the past 2 days after turning on my directv, it shows a blue screen frozen at 33% with new software found 0987. My current software under settings is 0x93d. I tried forcing an update by pressing 0 2 4 6 8 after a reset but it did nit work. Is there anyone who will be able to help? Thanks!

It probably isn't in the stream all day. It will try and grab it on its own again when it is.

As the HR44 is one of the most current receivers, the software is on the stream all day, or at least during "extended business hours"

I unplugged the reciever and was then able to update new firmware. Thanks to the replies.
