and yet another software bug in the hughes GCEB0A Executive Directors reciever. Go to channel 499 and for the last 48 hours i get "information not available at this time. Please try again latter" I called DTV to check this out, 2 phone reps simply hung up on me. The third rep said he was getting the Directv Interactive center on channel 499, But i am not. Wink is functioning on both my GCEB0A recievers, but i cant access the DTV interactive center.(if you want to call it that, i think wink sucks as you might know from my previous posts). I will stop short in calling the new Hughes recievers a piece of junk, since they do look good. But they have many issues to resolve.Heres some insider information, if you own current model hughes recievers, rumor has it that a software upgrade should occur next week. If your reciever dont have the Advanced Program Guide pre-installed, i doubt that any upgrade will ever keep the active window on the guide open when you move your cursor to the right , despite what you might have been told. I own (2) GCEB0A`s wich have the (A)dvanced (P)rogram (G)uide .

NO, you wont miss out on the upgrade, it should pick up the up grade soon after you plug in. the upgrade will be available for several months. But just because you are having Executive Director boxes(as shown at www.hughes.com) delivered is no gaurantee you will have the Adavanced Program Guide. There are several versions of this reciever. if its a GCEB0A , it should have a APG installed. But if its a GCEB0, it probobly will have a MPG guide system and the second you move your cursor to the right, you loose the active channel window. No upgrade will change that. (from what i heard)You should make sure the DSS guy dont try to palm off a MPG guide system, but may be thats all thats out there currently. But from what i heard from Directv Labs out in el sugundo, calif., and Hughes support in ft.lauderdale fl., there is no way a software download can convert a MPG guide system to a APG, but we shall see. You should check menu-->system setup-->features to see your program guide type and run a test to get your software version and exact Hughes model #.

i think the key here is that the model number MUST have an A at the end of it. such as GCEB0A or GAEB0A . Be sure to post the results of your upgrade experiance and how your reciever works after it occured, if it actually happens! good luck(you will need it!)
