yeah its been almost 6 months now and im still here pullin the plug every 5 days on my reciever cause it looses time. im thinkn of throwin in the towel on hughes and going back to RCA but i dont want to give up the advance program guide (i have rca DRD 480re). I can get a rca DRD485 RG, but those new guides are slow,i dont want to start banging my head against the wall again.Hughes keeps sending me recievers and i keep sending them back, each one is as bad as the next. its obvious that directv products in general are not selling as much as they once did. so both thomson and hughes cut corners. In the case of Hughes, they provided nice hardware but the software is pretty much coded in some ones basement. This is not a class act. Hughes didnt want to pay a company like microsoft millions of dollars for reliable code. to be continued...

Mental, I gave you a smart-aleck reply when you posted this before. So first off, my apologies for that. The way you posted the earlier thread looked like a troll and it wasn't, I am sorry.

I did see a post at the other forum that they were going to do an update of these receivers on or about Oct 15 to fix these and some other problems with the Hughes. I hope this helps.

ok thanks. but i doubt there will be any update since we been going through this since april 2002. They keeping puting me and every other good subscriber off and lieing to us saying week after week. month after month, but no upgrade or patch ever occurs. they shouldnt release a product that doesnt work properly. There really isnt much of choise in equipment available in retail here. its either thomson or hughes, neither one are any good imo.
