The only way I figure you can do it:

1) You would have to use the IR blaster method to control the TV.
2) The TV would always have to be on
3) You would then have to hook up the Video OUTPUTs on the Humax TV, to the INPUTS of your SA Tivo
4) Set your SA Tivo to use a DirecTV D10 or D11
5) Then you wold have to hook the outputs of the SA TiVo to one of the inputs of the Humax.

When you want to watch content that was recorded on the TiVo, you would have to change the Input.

You will not be able to use the Live buffer with this confirguration though.

The keys are #1 and #2

So after all that... If you really must use an SA TiVo with this Humax/LC, you may need a 2nd receiver such as the D10 or D11

Well... it would follow the same steps as you see in the manual.

There is the A/V OUT on the Humax.
Connect that to the A/V INPUT on the TiVo

Take the A/V OUT of the TiVo
Connect to the A/V Input of the Humax

Connect the IR blaster from the SA TiVo, to the front of the Humax.

Setup the TiVo to use a DirecTV Reciever D10 or D11

You will need to leave the TV On at all times.
Set the Video Input on the Humax to Aux 1 (which ever one you connected it to).

There is a reason why it is confusing.
The HUMAX LCD was not designed to act as a DirecTV Receiver for an external device. It is a TV with a DirecTV tuner.

To really use this the way you want to... you will be MUCH better off, not using the DirecTV tuner in the TV... but getting a seperate one for the SA Tuner.
