and I currently have two DTIVOs (Hughes). My question is if I get a 42" LCD and use it with my current DTIVOs (not getting the HR20 at the moment) - will be the picture quailty be the same or much worse vs what I see now with my std TV using the DTIVOs.

Thanks.

Well in the end it will probably look a little better. Here is the scoop:

It will look clearer just due to not having a tube picture any more, but the imperfections of the picture will be bigger now that you have a bigger TV, so you will be able to see them easier.

I just got the HR20, so I moved our DirecTivo into our bedroom, and my wife said that she now appreciates the living room TV a million times more :)

I just recently moved to HD and I had (well, I still have it) a DVR40 from Tivo. I found that the DVR40 looked really bad on the new TV (it is 57" though). I now have the H20 (non-DVR) on that TV and even the SD channels look much better than they did on the Tivo.

One problem with the Tivo (at least mine) was that it didn't have component outputs, so you had no high quality connection that was possible.

Hope that helps,
Bob

Thanks - that helps. I guess it seems like if I get a big screen LCD TV - I should also get an HD receiver like the HR-20.

Thanks again.
