OK.,..So I screamed and yelled, and then DirecTV sends the greatest, the best, the NEWEST Technology they have. An HR20 DVR with HD technology...BIG DEAL! It stinks...

Here is my issue..and I do have the newest greatest downloaded software..but I am still having issues. I see the great caller ID, BIG DEAL...

Here is my issue...on HD Channels only...

I get a blue screen all of a sudden

I lose sound, especially if I have just fast forwarded (is that a word?)

I will be fast forwarding and it looks like the show has begun, but I am already a minute or two into it, so then I need to ga backwards.....

I REALLY LIKE MY HR10 Tivo :crying_sa

So...who else is experiancing this? Is there a fix (other than throwing it out the window)..

I am in the So Cal market with all of my local channels in HD....I want to watch HD, so I can get rid of the annoying grey bars....and watch TV the way it is meant to be...Thanks for listening to me complain....

Me too... Hang in there! D* is working on it! We've had software updates every week! My box is a lot more stable than it use to be... We're BETA testers man!
For both of you.

Did you have those problems SINCE the 0xE3 update?

To the OP... do you lose sound permantly? (do you have to restart either your amp or HR20 to get it back).... how is your audio connect to the output?
Menu ->Help & Settings ->Setup ->Display ->Bar Color ->Black. That'll get rid of the annoying grey bars...
In my case Earl yes. Its BSOD and no sound for about 15 sec. Like I said previously, a lot more stable than it use to be! Haven't had to reset for a couple of days now...
Are all these issues specific to certain areas of the country? I'm in the Wash. DC area and have not had any problems with my HR20 either PQ, sound, MPEG4-wise, or any other really.

The programs I've asked the box to record have recorded. The FF issue was resolved and that seems to work great. I don't see any lip-sync problems.

My HDMI connection works.

My only real compaint at this point is that I want my OTA connection to work.

Again...are these problems mainly area-specific?

Same here with me from the DC Area - no problems with the MPEG4 Locals and they look just as good as OTA HD on the HR10. The last update fixed the FF problem so I'm very happy.
