I don't subscribe to locals?

I see that local HD will come to my area in Nov. Will I need to subscribe or will this be included with my HD package?

Used to be extra, but not showing on my bill any more in the details?
Locals at one time were extra, now included with all packages. Your locals, in HD, will be added to your receiver as they are turned on. You can still, if you wish, opt out of your locals, for a $3.00 per month credit.
If you have SD locals and HD access you will get HD locals.
I have SD locals but opted out of the 2nd dish on my roof because I installed an OTA antenna for HD locals before D* offered them. D* has recently added HD locals in my area - CBS, NBC and FOX, but I will keep the OTA for PBS, ABC, CW and all of the sub channels.
I use the am21 with ota right now. So maybe I will have to pay xtra? It does say on my bill no locals.
I don't think you will have to pay anything extra unless your receiving a credit for not getting locals and you decide you want them.

I'm not sure what it means by "no locals". Either you opted out or it's just stating you don't have them available.
Might have an old grandfathered package. Their used to be "Choice w/ locals" and "Choice w/out locals" for example way back.

But for at least 3 years, maybe more, locals have been included in any package price and if locals were not available in your area you could get a credit.

Basically if you have any modern programming package or an old one that isn't "no locals" then it will cost you no more to get your locals. If you have an old grandfathered no locals package then you'll have to switch to one of the current packages to get your locals. That may or may not cost you more, depending on the package you switch to.
I live in a city that is split by 2 counties. So when I was trying to get a quote on the D* website, it asks for county. If I didn't fill in the county, it would quote me a package price that was $5 cheaper then the advertised package price and no locals. So you might have to pay $5 to add locals.
Locals used to be $5 more, now with the new packages they are included. You automatically get the HD locals if they are available in your area, you are signed up for locals, and you have an HD setup.

I dont even know if you can opt out of them anymore if they are available in your area. I have heard a few saying that Directv will not let you opt out of them, but that is just rumors, I dont know for sure.
It's actually only $3 difference w/out locals - E* is the one that charges $5...

I have always used my ota since 1996. So it must be a grandfather thing. Back then I used it as a separate input on my TV.
I had the Plus HD DVR without locals up until Wednesday when Norfolk HD locals were added. I changed my package to get locals and it added $3 to my bill.
It's kind of nice to get locals though DirecTV and antenna if you have a DVR.
This way you can record two programs on the DVR and watch another via antenna at the same time.
be aware when locals become available in your area D* might not allow you to do any online account modifications until you "upgrade" to the locals package.
I had a big issue earlier this year where I wasn't allowed to add anything to my account/subscription until I upgraded to a locals package, but locals were not available to me in this area at the time.
I'm grandfathered into a Total Choice plus HBO and STARZ package, that does NOT include locals. I'm charged $6/mo for locals.

You might look into upgrading to a current package which is a couple of dollars more than your current grandfathered one, but it includes locals.

Thanks, but nope. I've basically got the equivalent of the current Choice package, plus 11 of the 26 tv channels from the Choice Extra (none of the XM but I don't care). I looked into dropping HBO a while ago, but the only way they'd do that was to move me into a current package. All in all, to move me into Choice w locals and Starz it would save me something like $.17/month WITHOUT HBO and I'd have lost those Choice Extra stations too.
