Yes, call DirecTV and ask for a recovery kit. Tell them you will return it promptly, and will follow up after they get it to get the charge reversed.

You don't own it though, it is still considered leased. You can also reactivate it on your account if you wish to do so, but it can't be activated on anyone elses account.
