ask Stuart or Doug. i think all that is needed is a willingness to test and the right equipmentskylox said:I Can't wait for MLB games from EI in HD. I currently have Cablevision and they dont have any HD games for baseball or hockey with their repective packages.
Also, can anybody help me figure out how to "signup" for Cutting Edge......I have looked through that forum and no luck. Not sure if I am just an idiot or not.
Thanks
I had EI on Comcast for years, never a game in HD. Sometimes I'd miss portions of games because they didn't have enough channels alloted to show every game at any given time. Last year, my first with D*, about 60% of the games I watched were in HD. This season 100%. I can even choose the home or away feed. D* has done an outstanding job with EI, even if cable lowered their price to match D*, I wouldn't go back.skylox said:I Can't wait for MLB games from EI in HD. So you go to the store to buy the HD DVR + service as a new customer but as such you can't take the unit selected home? Very interesting distribution model DirecTV has these days. Indeed it will be interesting what model they show up with, given the almost random distribution model they seem to employ these days. Let us know what you get.skylox said:Well I finally did it. I signed up for D* today. Ended up going to BestBuy due to the fact they had HR22's in stock. Well turns out that you cannot take home the equipment unless you were upgrading your equipment. But the good news (hopefully) is that when I asked her how long the DVR would be able to record and she told me that it records 100 HD/400 SD hours. So let's hope I get the HR22.
So here is the deal I got.
NFL Sunday Ticket $74.99/month
Also received a $30/month credit for 3 months since I signed up at BB
Free DVR for 4 months
Free Nascar Hotpass
So my first 3 bills will be $44.99 for every channel!!! I know HD Access is $9.99 extra.
Overall, I am very happy with how nice the rep was and I must have ask her the same question 12 times just to make sure she was sure herself about the offer I was getting.
Septembr 15th is my install date....can't wait.....also I added NHL Center Ice and the remainder of MLB EI
Welcome there is nothing better than the last month of MLB EI race for the pennant = Great Baseball in HD.skylox said:I Can't wait for MLB games from EI in HD. I currently have Cablevision and they dont have any HD games for baseball or hockey with their repective packages.

I signed up at Costco and they also didn't let me take home my HD DVR, but thankfully it was the right one.tkrandall said:So you go to the store to buy the HD DVR + service as a new customer but as such you can't take the unit selected home? So, then, .... can I conclude that if you are a new customer buying through a retail outlet like BB or Costco, then miracle of miracles DirecTV IS INDEED ABLE to guarantee a certain model is installed? But otherwise, if you call or sign up directly, or if you are a existing customer and have a need tor a swap out unit, it is potluck pick on what you get?merchione said:I signed up at Costco and they also didn't let me take home my HD DVR, but thankfully it was the right one.
i wonder if this i nstall will be done by the HSP network or BBs own installers.tkrandall said:So, then, .... can I conclude that if you are a new customer buying through a retail outlet like BB or Costco, then miracle of miracles DirecTV IS INDEED ABLE to guarantee a certain model is installed?
