One of my TV's was on all night and appeared to be working OK until I tried to change channels. The first thing I did was change the batteries in the remote.

How many of you changed the batteries in your remote today before you found out what was really wrong?

If you did not, what was the first thing you did to troubleshoot the problem. Kicking the dog does not count.
