I love my DirecTV!

There are so many threads here about people bashing DirecTV that I think we lose sight of how great we have it compared with other options.

I know that the squeaky wheel gets the grease and people want to get help for their problems, but I just wanted to take a second to say that DirecTV rocks! Anyone wanna debate that?

My TV provider progression: Mediacom, Dish network, Time Warner, DirecTV. I'm definitely happiest where I am right now.

I get the channels I want (got the four free months of Premier with ST deal when I signed up) at a price that's good for me. I've never had rain fade or any recordings get screwed up. My bill has been accurate. My CSR experience (though limited) has been favorable. My picture quality is excellent, and my receiver is problem-free.

OK, enough of the rant (or is it rave?). Anyone else wanna talk about how much they love their DirecTV? I've been trolling this board for a while now, and I thought it would be nice to balance the occasional negativity here with one or two positive comments.

Note: I'm not a DirecTV employee or even a third cousin once removed from a DirecTV employee.

I could not agree more, well said.:D
I love mine.

I cringe when I have to use friends/families other TV systems. The best is still directv.

Dish, Mediacom, Timewarner, Comcast all cannot compare in my book.

Only thing I wish I had was cable for the internet ;)

Exactly. I'm trying to convert the parents from Time Warner, but I think they fear change.
Ditto! Been with them a long time, and things just keep getting better......
Even the best compared to other countries. Living in Buffalo we get Canadian ads for a system called Bell View or Expressvu something, they pay $20. for a high def pack that contains 20 channels, they have no HBO, no MAX, no SHOtime, no StarZ and appears to be a complete rip. I feel we are so lucky when I see these ads.
Congrats and welcome.

You are right....most folks don't take the time to share the good experiences...but make that time to share the less-than-perfect ones. Fortunately, most folks fall into your group. :)

A TV on your patio? You've given us all something to aspire to. Watching football outside on a cool Sunday in October? That's gotta be heaven...

I also came from TWC and I couldn't of said it better! :joy:
Love my DirecTV here. I myself cringe when I visit my friend with Dish or my neighbor with cable. Just can not find the quality I have anywhere else.

Thank you for creating this post. Every time I read a post it seems to have a large percentage of whiners. "Where is Fox News?" "What with all the pay per views?" Yada Yada Yada! You know D* will deliver they always do! I've been a D* customer for seventeen years and they just continue to get better and better and better. Life to short. Go play with your kids or make some kids. Live a complete life.

Except when it rains, of course. Then its more like a meteor shower. :D
I am a onetime cable company employee (a long... long... time ago) and never considered satellite until they had both locals and the dual-tuner DVR. I made the jump 5 1/2 years ago and have never looked back! I can't think of one day when I wish I hadn't left Adelphia in the dust!
I have been with DirecTV for 14+ years and love my DirecTV as well

Before you ask, My wife loves it as well
Came from Mediascam 6 months ago or so and love every minute of it. Don't have to worry about missing my Badger games on BTN or my Packers on NFL Network anymore. No longer have to pay 25 extra bucks for 5 or 6 HD channels. I do get rain fade every now and then, but consider it a trade off for all the great content I get. Went with a local installer and had a fantastic experience. All CSR contacts have been great. No complaints!
:) I love this post. I have been a DTV customer sense 94, and have not regretted for even one day my decision to join the directv family. :) :)
I have never contemplated anything other than DirecTV. There have been bumpy times but DirecTV is still the most forward looking, most consistent delivering company I have ever dealt with.

I can see people being happy with other providers but I would not be. My focus is on sports and lots of it in HD and movies and lots of that in HD. DirecTV is the leader overall with consistent quality and usually in the forefront of bringing programming (forget this D11 stuff, that is just timing not a different intent).

On the whole, I love my DirecTV too.

But ..... I certainly have been (so far) disappointed with the measly national HD roll-out .... and I have found some of their CSR's to be kind of shifty .... and the way they get to their total HD channel count for advertising purposes (counting RSNs and PPVs) makes them look as silly as the other providers. There was a time that I thought they were sort of above the others when it came to that kind of advertising, but they've slid back to the pack.

They are still the best game in town .... but far from perfect.

Jeff
Nothing's perfect. We've been with DTV for 10 years and never once looked back. I actually pity people who have cable. We've consistently gotten more for our money with D*, they've continually improved their product and are now the king of HD. I also have to give a shout-out to their CSR's. They are human beings and yes, you're going to get the odd dud, but I remember dealing with the CSR's from our past cable companies and they were a joke. No comparison.

Let me add a word about rain fade. Our newspaper here in Colorado Springs has featured 3/4 page ads from Comcast for the last week screeching about all the things we don't have with satellite. It's honestly the biggest load of crap I've read in a long time. They keep harping on HD locals and rain fade. We have Comcast for our broadband and I have honestly had more problems with my internet connection over the last eight years than drop-outs from rain fade. So there you go. As to locals, I watch them in HD just fine on OTA and will get them from D* in October.

Good job D*. Keep the good stuff coming.
