Its the reason I am having Directv installed Tuesday. Where I live I get the Chiefs and Rams neither of which I like to watch.

Just wondering how important Sunday Ticket is to dbstalk.com readers...
Interesting poll Ken. I LOVE football but my wife would kill me if I got it. Had it a few seasons ago and loved it but it's not my reason for being with DirecTV.

Wow, that is weird how fast Josh responded!

As for me, I'm not big on football, so it would not make a difference for me one way or the other, but it is nice to have the option with DirecTV.

As of right now my answer would be "Keep DirecTV and live without it.".

I live in the Baltimore market so watching the Ravens games are not a problem but the reasons for having Sunday Ticket are....

1) Huge football fan and I have a 3 TV setup in my basement for football season.
2) Fantasy Football
3) Without Sunday Ticket I would get stuck watching the Redskins game at 4:00p.m. ET most of the time and I hate watching them.

The only way I would have to change my selection is if I would ever move out of the Baltimore market and if I did my answer would be "Keep DirecTV and get the service with it as well." because I could not miss my Ravens games.

I guess I would be looking at more than one service as I am assuming that DirecTV would still have the best MLB EI package and best of all the other sports.

If they dropped out of the sports business all together, different issue.

I got DirecTV for out of market sports and movies. When I signed up they were the best at those two things.

Now they are the best in sports (especially HD) and one of the best in HD movies and the best in HD overall (which is new criteria, no HD in the 1990s.) The NFL is one component (a large one) but one component.

BTW, well setup poll.

I chose: Keep DirecTV and live without it

I am a jets fan and I live in the their market so thats not a problem for me

I have Sunday Ticket just because Im a sports fan who loves to watch a good matchup

(and i have another game to watch when the jets are getting creamed)

I'm jealous of your 3 TV setup AND your basement. :)

Oh come on, Michael. Come out here to the Bay Area, were you've got TWO teams playing BRILLIANT football every weekend. We'll make you forget all about your Ravens! ... yeah, right ...

I'm in the group that NFL Sunday Ticket going away wouldn't affect me in any way. Like Michael, I'm in my teams home territory, and to some extent, I'm 'over football'. I'll watch the 49ers from time to time, but the older I get, the less interest I have in watching the 'rest of the NFL' play. I'd rather go outside with my boys and do something with them.

So... I'm not a ST subscriber, and if it left DirecTV it'd be no biggie for me...

I'm jealous of his 3 TV setup and basement too.

But it would be HOCKEY playing on my 3 TVs, not football! :D

The problem with basements is they seem to be most prevalent in places that have hurricanes and tornadoes and things like that.... I'm not a big fan of storms strong enough to pick up my house and move it to another place. I'll stick with my earthquakes once every 20 years or so.

Josh,

That was impressive you responded before I even finished the poll :)
LOL what can I say? It was there so I responded. I just now noticed there was a poll.

Hmm.. The annual "If DIRECTV lost NFL ST what would you do poll." :D

I'd get NFL ST and keep DIRECTV. (I expect.)

But this is a fantasy question. DIRECTV won't lose NFL ST for a very long time. They might lose exclusivity, most likely from Congressional action, but they won't lose it completely. So I'll be able to stay and watch on my 3d 2160P120 140" TV with 5 32" screens for the other games. :D

Cheers,
Tom

I had it when I first got D*, because of the good deal that came with it. Canceled it the next year.

I watch my Packers, and that's it. I'll maybe watch a few plays of SNF and MNF, but never the entire game anymore. Too much other stuff to do these days, plus no room in my budget.

I do like the March Madness package thou. Will probably get it again next year.

We're lucky enough to get Dayton stations OTA along with Cincinnati. There are a fair number of times they show different games. We've had Directv since 2003, and never had ST. The only reason I'd ever get ST would be if we moved out of the area and couldn't see the Bengals, and then it would not be the primary reason to choose a provider.

I am a Cowboys fan living in Connecticut and I signed up with D* in '99 solely because D* had the Sunday Ticket. As much as I love my service and equipment, I would most likely go with whomever won the contract.
