I completely agree with you about movies (I'll be among the first picketing D* when TCM goes HD), but Mad Men, besides being one of the best shows on television, is a must see in HD type show.RAD said:Frankly, between all the edits that they've done and commercials I'd rather see Turner come up with TMC HD or Fox Movies HD then AMC, sorry.
Not sure why. I have it in HD and it is okay. It really doesn't look much better than the VoD version available on DirecTV. People say this over and over but there are no special effects. No artistic shots. No real color of any kind. No subtly in the production. Just standard movie look of the 1950s, early 1960s.QuickDrop said:I completely agree with you about movies (I'll be among the first picketing D* when TCM goes HD), but Mad Men, besides being one of the best shows on television, is a must see in HD type show.
Sorry. i didn't mean it to be a Petition . I was just telling people to email D* because so many here have been asking about AMC-HD for many weeks. You can remove this thread if you think it violates any rules.Stuart Sweet said:This thread is really skirting the line....
we do not allow petitions here at DBSTalk. Calls for e-mails are ok.
I agree, TCM and FMC have bigger film libraries and no commercialsRAD said:Frankly, between all the edits that they've done and commercials I'd rather see Turner come up with TMC HD or Fox Movies HD then AMC, sorry.
I agree with this statement. I love MAD MEN but it is not a show that screams for HD. Few outdoor shots, bland color and so forth. Great show but not one that was "made for HD".tonyd79 said:Not sure why. I have it in HD and it is okay. It really doesn't look much better than the VoD version available on DirecTV. I agree completely. The Blu-Ray version of Mad Men is great, and a big departure from the SD version on VOD. The difference is huge even on my 42" display.Richard L Bray said:Maybe it doesn't "scream for HD"; however, I watched the first season on Blu Ray and am now watching it on D*. There is a "huge" difference on a 60" display.
Turner ought to put HD content on the HD channels they have now before they ask for more.RAD said:Frankly, between all the edits that they've done and commercials I'd rather see Turner come up with TMC HD or Fox Movies HD then AMC, sorry.
