I'm on 3 mornings in a row, lets see who goes the longest. :eek2:FlyBono24 said:I've woken up the past 4 days straight without being able to watch my TV because of the black screen bug. This is ridiculous!!!
Just a reset, that's all I can do... then I miss about 8 minutes of my show while it restarts... and all my guide data, of course.Tyrod said:Do you ever get it to work and if so, how?
True, I was just venting. Sorry if it seemed like I was actually looking for a resolution, because I read these boards a lot and it seems like there isn't a fix for this yet. I just figured I would finally sign up and post something instead of just lurking all the time.HDTVsportsfan said:Sorry Fly, folks post and it's hard to tell if they're truly looking for help or just venting.
You're right, it sounds like the black screen bug. Next to a RBR I don't think anyone has a solid work around or fix.
Are you trying to perfrom a specific task over the night, like a scheduled recording or anything like that. Does it stay on the same channel you left it the night before?
Yea, It's frustrating. Fortunetly I've only had it happen a couple of times. The funny thing is I have two HR20's and IIRC it happens on the least used of the two.FlyBono24 said:True, I was just venting. Occasionally I have overnight recordings, and those always work fine.
And yes, it stays on the same channel. I leave it on ESPN at night and when I wake up, and reset the box, it's still on ESPN.
There are multiple bugs that have been called "black screen" there is one where the screen just goes black and a channel change will fix, there is one where it is black and you can change channels and they are all black that requires a RBR, and there is one where the screen is black and the HR20 is locked up and requires a RBR.glennb said:I had the black screen problem once or twice a while ago but changing the channel a few times fixed it for me.
I've had the black screen, no sound, remote unresponsive problem a couple of times and the only fix for that was resettting the unit.
I doubt its related to solely to HDMI. I have more than one unit and the bug is present on both the HDMI and Component receiver connections. I have had to do RBR on both of these units several times in the last week.hdfan01 said:There have been HDM issues for some sets. If possible, switch to component cables and optical for sound. Have you reset the unit since this problem surfaced? If not, I would try a red button reset. Let us know what happens. May beother steps to try.
Nope. My unit works fine.FlyBono24 said:It's the same thing that everyone else is experiencing.
I wake up and want to watch some early Sportscenter... but when I turn on my setup, the screen is black.
I can change channels (the banner across the top changes to show that function is working) but the screen remains black.
I cannot access my recorded programs.
I can turn the unit off and on but the result is the same.
I'm hooked in through HDMI, by the way.
And I do have the most current update.
Ditto. So I guess the word everyone is not quite accurate.Blitz68 said:Nope. My unit works fine.
