try to reset your box by hitting the reset button

Sounds like the 'unwatchable' bug. Some folks have had luck with selecting "No, don't delete" than attempting to play it again, or using one of the trickplay buttons. Didn't work for me so those recordings were trashed (and probably corrupted). Since I did a power reset (1st level from the Settings box) I haven't had this bug but it's only been 1 1 1/2 weeks. Thanks, but I tried it and lost all of my weeks recordings

So is it a software bug "unwatchable bug"?

Possibly fixed in the FUTURE with an update?

It's a highly reported problem with the 0xFA as it happened to me a few times. If you've read a bit around here you'll note that some people were able to get a few of the "newer" downloads and we have been "testing" every way we know how to break these things:uglyhamme . So far (knocking on stuff and fingers crossed) I have yet to have a DELETE NOW pop up on me.

I am running 0x10B and once DirecTV feels this update or one like it will be stable, it will send it out. The red button reset (RBR) will basically show you which of your programs are unwatchable as they are "marked for deletion" because they are corrupt - which is usually indicated by that delete message you got when you try and play something.

I've definitely had this with 10B over the weekend... so it's not fixed in the new release yet.

I did not know there was DirecTV in Canada :eek2:

I've yet to have this "unwatchable" bug hit me, and I've been running 0xFA for a month now. I've recorded SD and HD, both Series Link and "on-demand" recording of shows.

Have people pinned down under what circumstances things get corrupted?

I had a similar problem. Checked the "to do" list before we went out for the evening and both the Survivor Finale and Survivor Reunion show were scheduled to record. My wife demanded I check it again. They were both showing "R" in the guide and both were on the to do list. But when we came home, only the Finale had recorded and the Reunion show hadn't, where they announce the winner.

Fortunately, I have an older Tivo in the guest bedroom and it had recorded it. My wife is ready to throw this thing out the window. It did the same thing to an episode of Friday Night Lights last week. Showed on the to do list, but didn't record.

Anybody know a fix for this? Since we travel a lot, it has become completely untrustworthy.

When I have seen this show up, I reset my box. I have seen that if you see it once it tends to keep happening until a reset then the box will go back to normal for a while. Not the best advice but about all I can offer.

I've had this a few times also, running nearly every version til now, running 0xFA currently. It seems to almost always happen with My Name is Earl.

True, But Showcase is basically the Poor Man's Skinemax

We do get our local cable, mostly for the news, weather etc.
