My HR20 is about 10 days old. So far I have not noticed any major software or performance glitches like missing programming -- I have experienced some of the minor ones like it double typing characters in the search box.
However, it seems to have a very inconsistent fan noise. The other night we were literally stirred out of deep sleep in the middle of the night by what turned out to be the fan. I can't do justice to how loud it was without people thinking I am overstating, but I'm not. Imagine an electronic razer, five times louder. We could hear it 50 feet down the hall from the room, through a closed door. My wife literally thought it was going to explode, it seemed so loud.
I felt it and it was not hot. It has tons of room to ventilate. It seemed to still be functioning fine. But we had to unplug it in the end until the morning to get any sleep -- even turning the power off didn't help, only unplugging it.
Since then it has reverted to this loud state at random times.
This can't be normal, can it?
