New Hopper problem...
Selected my Daily Schedule last night seeing there was a conflict. All that showed up in the Daily Schedule was a PTAT recording and many listings of 'Info Not Available'.

I suspected the Guide had not updated which happened ocassionally on my old 722k. I selected the Guide and it was fine. The guide went out for about 9 days.

OK, we'll reboot. Did a front panel reset. No change. Unplugged. No change.

Called DISH. First tech support took me through the basics I had already done, then had me do a Test Switch. Didn't make amy difference. She handed me over to 'Advanced Technical Support'.

He took me through the same steps. I could still record and the recording would show up fine. He then said, "I guarantee this willl next fix the problem". He said a program update can get corrupted. He had me set a timer on the next half hour (in 15 minutes). Then he hung up.

Needless to say the timer went off and recorded, but all the other timer info was 'Info Not Available'.

I called back, went through the same rigamorole getting to Adavnced Tech, went through the same steps with them. This time she said I needed a tech to come out.

SO a tech is scheduled for Monday afternoon.

Anyone had this problem and was able to fix it?

I even tried deleting and setting a new timer. Still the same...very frustrating although she gave me 3 days credit on my bill.

Update. I turned on the Hopper just now and the Info Not Available is gone. However, although the timers have their names again, they don't appear to be correct. 'OnlyNew' timers are set to record everything.

Gotta go so I'll check later.

After the nightly update, the timers returned with their info. However, every non-network timer set to record ALL shows, new and reruns, even though the timer said New Only.

I deleted all the non-network timers and re-established them and all was correct again. I cancelled the appointment.

Unplugging all the units DID NOT fix the problem BTW. I am a little concerned that the tried and true way of refreshing the Guide using the CHeck Switch no longer works. Maybe the Guide has to be empty for it to re-download.

I'm also concerned that the Advanced Tech used the word 'Guarantee' with nothing to back it up. It did not work so his guarantee is useless. Does this incur a legal responsibility on DISH? Their representative guaranteed something and it didn't work.

The guide will update if need be when there is an available tuner. It will say guide updating on the TV Viewing Status screen while in progress. the check switch will not trigger the guide download on a hopper. It also updates the guide during the nightly update.

That's urban legend; nothing happen with EPG during night reboot (!); it's the same process as you will do switch check or just make reboot by your will.
Real purpose is to cleanup accumulated problems with RAM allocations and stack corruption.
