I ordered an HR20 the week before Christmas and today was my install date. When no one showed, I called order support. First they told me I hadn't been scheduled. I pointed out that I could see my order online and the date was there. They apologized, said their installers were overbooked, and that they needed to reschedule - but couldn't even give me a new date! They said someone would call within 72 hours to reschedule it.

I complained, said I'd already been billed for the HR20, that I stayed home all morning, etc. They gave me a $100 credit which surprisingly has shown up on my account already. I guess that will make me feel a little better about paying $99 for the HR20 when so many people are getting it free. If I ever get one that is.

I have FiOS internet, and tv will likely be available by spring. I decided to go ahead with the HR20 instead of waiting, but maybe I should just wait.

I received a call back in the begining of December saying that my HD/dvr has finally arrived, after waintin about a month for it. We scheduled an appointment for the other day and sat home all day long, waiting for the D.TV. people to install my hd/dvr. Guess what no one showed up, everytime I called the computers were down and I just kept getting the run-around. The next day we called and we were told that we were not in the computer to thave the hd-dvr installed, (funny got a phone call confirming the appointment the night before). Now it turns out that they no-longer have my box available, that I have been waiting for since the begining of December and that they will not have new equiptment available until sometime in February (maybe), I am sorry spomeone in that company messed up big time. They proceeded to offer me everything under the sun for free, but I still cannot get the HD/dvr until maybe February. Not good. When Got off the phone with them I calle a local cable company and got them to install the HD-dvr for me in 5 days, I am also receiving a bunch of pirks for leaving Direct TV. How is it that DirectTV isn't going to have any boxes available until February. For a big company they sure have poor business sence!!!! No wonder everyone that I have spoken with about this has or is leaving D. TV.

Hope that they wake up soon.

Your experience was even worse than mine. I'm not surprised you switched.

I didn't want to deal with them over the phone again, so I tried email. I asked for a firm date for delivery of the HR20 I've already been charged for. I also complained that I was paying an extra $9.95/month for UltimateTV because they couldn't deliver the HR20 that was going to replace it.

I got back an email apologizing, but not mentioning when if ever I would get my receiver. Said the HR20 was in short supply. But the install people told me two days ago that it wasn't, that it was simply a lack of installers. And I see other people being told it's the dish that's in short supply. They gave me $9.95 credit for one month of UTV, and 2 free months of Showtime. Hey guys, how about telling me when you're going to deliver the equipment I already paid for? Or maybe offering a refund?
