Just ordered an R-15 DVR online from D* (free delivery and installation, etc.) I currently have only two receivers with a dual LNB (seven-year-old system, two coaxial lines from the antenna). I am not adding the DVR receiver; I’m replacing the current receiver (I’ll still just have a total of two receivers). I understand to be able to record/watch two channels, I’ll need a second line going to the DVR.

Will the installer add this line as part of the DVR installation?

Do I need to upgrade my equipment (i.e. LNB, dish or multiswitch)?

If so, will D* charge me for this equipment?

You will either need a multiswitch, or a newer dish that has 4 outputs. The installation should include this at no extra cost, but you might want to call and confirm that with the installation company so they come properly prepared.
