My HR20 says it's internal temp is 125deg. Is that alot? It is in a cool basement and is cool to the touch.

Or is it not an accurate measurement?

That's right about normal for most people's reports. Mine runs between 120 and 127, depending on whether I'm recording and playing back multiple streams, or just sitting here watching buffered TV. At the moment, I'm at 120 watching the Today show (MPEG4 local).

Mine is almost always 127 degrees in the morning after it has been "OFF" all night. (As off as it can be.) But cools down to 118-119 after watching it for several hours..... Seems backwards. Room temp is about 68.

No problem.....this really centers around HDD spec threshold of 55C (131F)....most likely 60C (140F) max ! If your unit is above 131F (55C) then you should have concern.

Mine runs 125 in a cabinet that needs to be ventilated better.
