I recently upgraded to the HR 34. Is my Cavalry Storage CAXE Series 1 TB external drive compatible with the HR 34. It doesn't seem to recognize it.

Dumb question: you are plugging it into the esata port and not the USB port, correct?

Poker - Not a dumb question - I am plugging it into the esata port.

Shades - I had this drive connected to my HR21 and have tons of movies and programs I still want to watch. Once I have watched them all I plan on getting rid of the esata and going with the internal drive on the HR34

I figured that was the reason but it won't work that way. You cannot move hard drives between receivers. You will need your HR21 in order to watch those shows.
