Is Prison Break Done? -Opinions- (Update: Cancelled)

I noticed in another topic, people mentioning PB has "run it's course" & "jumped the shark." Am I one of the few who disagrees & still loves the show? Is the title what hurts? They obviously aren't breaking out of prison anymore. IMO, it's still one of TVs best shows & I can't wait for each episode.

Your thoughts?

My wife and I love it. Yeah, it's called Prison Break and they broke out long ago but the action and suspense is still there in a BIG way. The overall theme may be far-reaching (no more than "24", though-and they did break out of prison, so you know there's gonna be one heck of a chase, and if by chance one was wrongly accused/imprisoned, one would spend ever waking moment (while being chased) trying to declare innocence), but it's still a top show IMO for it's acting (characters), action sequences and suspense. I'll watch it till the very end! Oh yeah, Michael Rappaport is tha man! Great addition to the show!
I dropped it after the conclusion of Season 2.
We're watching..
It's like a train wreck.. you can't stop.
Of course the story lines are far-fetched and over acted and unbelievable... but it's entertainment.
I wouldn't be disappointed if this show got canceled next season... but I'll probably keep watching while it's still on. ;)

I'd have to agree.
I stopped watching last year when they were in Panama, but I watched the season finale in re-runs and wanted to give it a chance this year. I love it this year, but you must definitely suspend belief and just enjoy the ride.
I have not caught the last 2 episodes but I will watch them on the FOX website. It has lost a little for sure. I think its still a good show but am losing a little interest. It seems as though there is no conclusion in site.
This is the last season for the series so yes, it is done.

Not trying to be insulting, but do you have a source? Again, not trying to be rude.

I've read in several places that this is the last season of Prison Break. Fox gave it one more season to wrap up any story lines. I don't follow the show so I don't know more then that. If I come across a link I'll post it. Certainly possible something has changed since the summer when I was reading that. However it's ratings have not been that great so who knows.
I hope this is the last season. Don't get me wrong my wife and I love the show but it is called Prison Break, and last I saw they were not in prison.

It seems like they're in prison every other season, season 1 and 3 they were. Actually IMO the season's where they are in prison were better, season 2 where basically they were on the run all season just got tedious for me and I about gave up on it. This year not so sure, seems like this years theme is figuring out a way to break into places instead of break out, plus this season seems to be taking on a bit of a "MacGyver" feel to it to me! Ya know figure out some hair-brained scheme that relies on some far-fetched plan that somehow they always just manage to pull off by the skin of their teeth every ep.

Hey!!
They broke Malone out of prison this week! (okay so it wasn't really prison)
My gut feeling is that this will be the last season, but I do still enjoy it. The only real problem I have with the current storyline is that it’s pretty much the same each week – find a cardholder, do some finagling to get close, almost get caught, but still get the data at the last minute, and rescue one of the team members that gets in trouble. I am hoping things will start getting more exciting. The first two seasons had enough twists and surprises to keep it interesting. They need more of that.

Well, there is only two more weeks of that since they will then have all 6 cards.

Yeah, we can only hope…of course the last one will probably be the hardest to get - it may take 3 or 4 episodes!

Yea but after that then they still have to "break into" Company headquarters and decode the cards...then there is the mystery illness to Michael that will slow things down.....something still is not sitting right with me about Sarah, something is up with how she "got away" from Gretchen. Mahone and Wyatt still have their showdown to come.

Good show but if it continues after this year...it could turn into an updated M:I type show, our team does off the books black bag jobs for Homeland, the FBI, CIA, and XYZ agencies

Very well said.
I love it, it does decent in the ratings.

Stephen King loves it, he wrote about how much he loves it in Entertainment Weekly. He says it's what TV should be.
What other show can basically recreate itself every year with the same core group of characters and get away with it?

Season 1: Plotting to break out of prison
Season 2: Running from the law after breaking out
Season 3: Alright, season 3 was much like season 1 with Michael plotting to break out of a prison but enough of the characters were outside the walls to make it different enough for me
Season 4: Chasing down the secrets of the mysterious "Company," a part of the story that arcs back to season 1 so it's not like they just created it for the sake of keeping the show going
