I'm thinking of having DECA installed. I was looking on a few websites like amazon.com and solidsignal.com and looks like they have all the inside equipment needed. But I was wondering do you need a SWM dish installed to install deca?

Right now I have a slimline-5 with multiswitch (non swm) installed. I've had that dish up there since 2007 before deca was available.

You can add a SWiM lnb or a SWiM-8,16 to your existing lnb, either way SWiM is a must.

SWiM frees up the band that DECA uses.
Without a SWiM, the Ka-lo channels [the need for BBCs] occupy the frequencies.
