If I have followed this and other threads correctly, and my situation is as follows, then I should be able to get HD networks.
We currently live in Charlotte and I get all broadcast networks OTA. This coming year we will start construction on a home in Savannah, GA. From what I understand, the Savannah stations do not broadcast in HD. Granted, this may change in the next year. I contacted D* and they told me I could get a national feed, NY stations, with a waiver from the local Savannah stations. Posters on other boards have indicated fat chance of that. What I want is to be able to get the major networks in HD, which again is not broadcast OTA by the Savannah stations.
From this thread it seems that I should be able to change my billing address when I move to a friend's address in, say, Charleston or other metropolitan area with good HD coverage and get my locals from that location. I really don't care what newscast I get and I'm not trying to get a blacked out sports event; I just want to watch '24' and 'CSI' etc in HD. It appears that Savannah should be within the spot beam of the Charleston stations. It is easy to come up with a reason to do what it is you want to do, but there should be a way to get the prime time shows in HD when the local stations won't pony up the bucks to broadcast in HD and won't grant a waiver.
Will this work?
Disclaimer. First post here, but I've been over on the Tivo community forum since I have the HR10-250, but posted over here because locals will require the HR20 and it isn't Tivo. I'm in the queue for the HR20.
