Is there a way to (Block) or (Lock) out Channels so they do not display?

I was wondering Is there a way to Block or Lock out Channels so that they will not be displayed? I currently just received a HD20-100 & D11-300. Both of these models do not block the channels..

I'm not interested inallowing my kids check out the Playb*y channels and see what there missing? The titles and descriptions would make for some very interesting readings for them and friends?

1) I tried Parental Control (Channel Block) and thought this would do what I needed? But all this does is display a "Pop Up" telling them that they can not view the station. It still allows them to see the station, title, description and cost. It also allows them to see the titles that will be playing in the future.

2) I also set up my Custom Channels list with the channels I thought was appropriate, but when you press the "Guide" button on the remote and then go "channels categories" it still shows the listing for all channels that you did not list in the custom channels listing?

I assume that D* wants to make sure you can't block them in hopes that you will subscribe to a channel or purchase a show?

Thanks!!!

Which receiver are you talking about? They are all a bit different.

On a DirecTivo you can setup a favorite list of just the channels you want to see in the guide.

The HR20 is very similar in that you can make a custom favorite list (2 of them actually) and those will be the only ones that show up in the guide. The parental controls will prevent them from tuning into a certain station.
My R15-300 running software version 105F has a hide adult channel option if this is turned on and you enter the channel number it says channel not available. I just wish that my HR20 had this feature maybe in the future it will.

Scott,

Sorry for not mentioning the models. I currently just received a HD20-100 & D11-300. I edited the top post to reflect the models that I am using.

Thanks!!!
