I mean I understand a few. But if I punch in 501 on the guide, above 501 there is always at least 5-10 of them and even from 501 and down, they have them scattered.

I mean do they really think I want to watch Brad Pitt in 7 years in Tibet that they have to advertise it???

Please tell me there is a way to disable it!

You can hide the first channel after the banners and they will go away or you can go to 502 and channel up.

Yes they do think that customer's would have an interest in it so that's why it's there. Will every one of them be relevant to you? Nope but some might and if you use one sometime you might appreciate it.

I have never understood why people have such an issue with this but I guess to each his own. I had never seen those banners until I saw this thread or if I had I learned long ago to ignore them. I usually start at 501 too and go through the movie channels.

Again, to each his own.

Well they are HUGE looking and there's quite a few of them. Very annoying. When you start at 501 like I do, like I said, you unfortunately subject yourself to them as they are right above 501 put there on purpose by DTV....guess I'll have to live with them.

Look, I am against guide spam in general. But in the DIRECTV Cinema area and right before HBO it actually makes sense because it's telling you that you don't have to wait and record that content, it's available now.
