I really like the DirecTV feature that allows you to search the TV Listings at directv.com and select programs to record online. Is there an advanced search feature that I am overlooking? I would love to be able to search the TV listings in a more advanced fashion (phrases, exclude certain words, etc.). All I see is the search box at the top of the website. When I type in my search string, it searches the entire website. It always lists the matching shows at the bottom of the hits, but it seems to search on each individual word and gives me hundreds or thousands of hits. It does a pretty good job of putting the most relevant hits first, but I would love to have more control over my searches.

The search engine on the HR2x DVRs (maybe the regular receivers as well) allows for boolean searches with a few operands. There's nothing like that on the DirecTV site that I've seen.

Thanks for the reply. I'm really lazy and prefer to type my searches with a qwerty keyboard. I guess if I really want boolean, I'll have to play around with the HR21's search engine.

Josie,

I know what you mean character entry with a remote is painful at best. At least now you can use the number pad shortcuts to enter the chars.

I'm pretty sure there are some other TV listing services that provide better search engines...but not sure which ones.
