I've got a very tall house and have noticed that at times the RF gets flakey and was thinking a repeater between me and the DVR might help. Is there such a thing? TIA.

It is a coax connector. You can use a coax run to move the antenna to a higher location for better reception.

This will obviously depend on your home configuration.

I do not believe there is a repeater at this time.

Some of the DVRs have an external RF antenna plug (R15 and HR20?) and some don't - like the HR21. I have all 3 types...

Make sure you use a quality set of AA batteries. Yes it makes a difference.

With a "F" fitting on the receiver you can use a UHF antenna and a VHF/UHF amplifier to improve the reception.

Now, if only we had a way to attach an antenna to the Hx21s.
