Since Jonesboro is it's own DMA, and D* doesn't provide locals to that area, you'd have to see if you qualify for DNS. Go to http://directvdnseligibility.decisionmark.com/app/addressform.aspx and plug in the address you're moving to and it will tell you your eligibility.

I'm planning a move to Jonesboro, Arkansas and was wondering if anybody knew what locals were offered there. I know they only have one local station (KAIT - ABC) and otherwise are serviced by Little Rock and Memphis stations. I would prefer to receive the Memphis stations as I will spend a lot of time there; but didn't know if I could get them or if I would get the Little Rock stations. Or if maybe DirecTV didn't offer any of them and I would qualify for DNS?

Right now I live about 7 miles from the KAIT Studios, and can't pick it up worth a crap on my antenna LOL. I can pick up WPTY DT, WLMT DT, WREG DT, and WPXX DT out of Memphis, but can't pick up KAIT out of Jonesboro, what gives LOL. You should qualify for DNS, I get CBS, CW, and FOX in SD, and Fox and NBC in HD from New York. I've asked that before too about the Memphis or Little Rock Locals, but were in a crappy spot to receive locals mainly since as mentioned by another poster, Jonesboro is it's own DMA, and they probably won't give us Memphis because of KAIT? I've checked on this thoroughly, and we(Jonesboro Residents) live between two DMAs from Directv, and that is Memphis and Cape Girardeau. Dan, have you tried a digital tuner their pushing now? I live in Cherokee Village, some 62 or so miles away, with terrible OTA KAIT reception, but the digital tuner worked wonders (with my rabbit ears), and only $10 after using the "coupons".

It's an indoor antenna, and they've told me through e-mail from the station that I would need an outdoor antenna, but I'm not gonna install one of those when I can get ABC out of Memphis in HD on what I have now?!? It's a 55 dB amp Antenna from RCA. The only thing I really would have wanted KAIT DT for was the Tube, but since that channel went belly up, the WPTY HD is just fine with me.Satelliteracer said:What kind of antenna are you using?
I have a friend in Jonesboro with D* and he gets all his stations DNS. In other words, he gets the NY affiliates.
Jonesboro is a terrible DMA. The mississippi river is a demarc for the DMA so they can't be lumped in with Memphis. They are too far away from Little Rock and Cape Gireadu.
