Just for asking.

Yesterday I called Directv and nicely asked if there was any discounts they could offer me as a current customer. The lady looked in her system and 30 seconds later says, "since you've been a customer for a long time i can give you free HD service for a year ($9.99 a month for a year) as well as $10 off my bill each month for the year." So for the next 12 months, every month, by account starts off with a credit of $19.99. And the best part was they didn't reset my commitment date. As they put it, it's just their way of saying thanks for being a loyal subscriber. Wow. I got basically $20 off per month for year just for simply asking. Gotta love it.

I'd keep checking on that committment extension. There have been several folks here that were told their committment would not be extended, but turns out it was.
I got a free DVR w/installation and $19.99 off my bill for 6mo. I have been with D* for 4yrs.

does it require you to use that card to pay the bill ?
I also have the free HD DVR as well as the $5 off per month for my Directv Visa...so i guess i'm saving $25 a month for a year.

And yes the way i think it works is you do have to use it to pay your Directv bill.

What avatar?

I just read dbstalk for the articles. :D
Yup, they can be pretty nice. All depends on what your rating is in their eyes (based on what you have upgraded/subscribe to, billing payments, etc.).

I got my AM21 free for being a Loyal Customer ;)
