Don't believe so. If it is the RC65RX remote, there is not a backlit version of that one.

Actually there is. :)

The "RC65RBX." I'm using it right now on my HR34. Didn't come with it though, but got it free (~$2.00 shipping) after I called DIRECTV and complained that I should of at least received an RC65X or -RX model with the HR34 after the tech just left a basic RC65 claiming that's what came in the box.

Ok, thanks. Suck a fancy DVR and not backlit remote, geez.
I will just order one along with the am21 that I now need, which was NOT included on the order, as it replaced a HR20-700

Oh joy...the DVR now won't activate As the signal on 99 is one below the minimum. I have now issues with the picture at all, but the tech says I need a new dish. Does not have one because I am an upgrade, not a new install.

He is trying to get a waiver because it's slightly cloudy right now. I understand why D* does this, I guess....

Let's see

I guess you're sticking around for a couple more years then.
Yes I am Scott, as I am overall happy. DIRECTV had is pluses and minus that I hate. But I tried Uverse and I did not prefer it. I prefer the DVRs better with DIRECTV. PQ dead even. I was going to try DISH, but DIRECTV had a fair offer for the HR34, so I stayed. Going on 13 yrs come Sept!

So unless something screwing happens, I am good for another 2 yrs. but AT&T will buy out my ETF tomorrow is needed ;-)

Do I need the CCK with the HR34 and a HR22? The HR34 is located right by the router and the HR22 is upstairs. I can directly connect the HR34 with no issues,. But will the HR22 be connected? One less piece behind the unit, if I don't need it.

No, the HR34 can serve as the CCK for both, but the tech may still insist on it as they have been trained that way and are not familiar with the HR34's capability to do this.

I guess he goes over with my HR34, activates it and comes back.

Ok, thanks. I will pull out the CCK after he is done. Very nice guy and is trying hard!

Oh OK;

Thought that would certainly be against policy taking the receiver to another residence that way, but I do sympathize with the tech. on the IV test. It can be a royal pain and a waiver from ISS is by no means a given either.

I called in on 6/14 & got upgraded to HR34 as well. So far I am pleased, guide is a little slow, set up series links as "first run" but it seems to be get all of them. Overall, it is a really cool DVR.

When the tech was there we got to talking and he said something about DTV & Netflix coming together sometime in October, has anyone else heard this?

p.s.: Got an awesome deal on the upgrade, $0!!!!

Consider yourself lucky you got a remote at all, my HR34 didn't come with one. And no installers have AM21's so that shouldn't have been a shock to you.
