Just moved and can't get whole home to work

So I just moved to a new house, had my DTV moved with me. The tech came and installed/set up the dish today however he did not get the whole home dvr working...

My main receiver is an HR22 and my secondary was just upgraded to an HR24. The HR22 has a DECA adapter on it and he said the HR24 doesn't need one (it has the tech internal to it?). Both are set up to use the home network however both say "No networked DVR's found." I tried throwing my second DECA adapter on the HR24 just to give it a shot but it doesn't seem to have made a difference...any advice?

The installer is correct, the HR24 has built in DECA.

What IP addresses do they get?

The HR24 does have the DECA internally, which the HR22 doesn't.
The 24s can't use/power the DECA adapter, either [as you found].
It might be time to look at the networking IP addresses and see what they are. If they're 169.xxx, then they aren't coming from your router.
Do you have a DECA connected to your router?
Does the HR24 show that it is "coax connected", under the networking info?
I do not have internet yet so no router, however I could hook the router up if it would help regulate the network...

Hr22 ip is 192.168.2.80
Hr24 ip is 169.254.7.121

Lol I think I see the problem ...I think i'll try hooking the router up and setting up static ip's

Yup, there's your problem. You need something to give them an IP or setup static IPs. :)

You might just be seeing a symptom of the problem. Are your receivers both on SWIM?
Actually I think you can just re-run the network setup on on or the other and it should pick up the right IP address.
Well I connected the router and gave both the receivers static IP's and viola they see each other and whole home works :)

Thanks guys
