Just received my new backlit remote for an Hr20-700. The 2 remote codes for all DTV hd DVR's in the instruction manual will not work. I have also tried the others just to see. Tried searching forum, could not find anything.
Any help would be great.

What was the model number of the old remote and what is the model number of this new remote ?
For the old one to have been in RF mode it would have needed and "R" after the model. Example: RC64R.

Your receiver might be in RF mode while the remote is in IR mode. Change one or the other.

Use the old remote:

Press the Info button on the remote and hold it down for 3 or 4 seconds. The system Info will come to the screen. Choose more Info. Scroll down the screen until you get to Remote Type.

What does it say, IR or RF ?

I just went thru the standard RF setup and it is working....
