Finally after doing a lot of analyzing and research I went ahead and signed up for Directv.
-I went with the AAA $10 off for 20 months deal.
-I enrolled for auto pay while on the phone with sales rep for $10 off each month and another $5 off for providing my email address.
-I got the HR 34 HMC DVR and paid the $99 deposit fee.I also got 3 more HD receivers.
-I went with the Premiere programming package and the $25 a month Filipino package for my mom.
-Free NFL Sunday Ticket. But I found out NFL ST Max would be an additional $147.
-Free install and I asked the sales rep about the old Directv dish that is still on my roof when I was renting out my house 4 years ago and the sales rep said the installers would take down the old dish and put in brand new hardware.
I still need to call tomorrow to get the RAF $10 off for 10 months additional discount.
Price wise I was told my first 3 months would be $88 a month and then months 4 to 12 it goes up to $123 a month. This billing price is still without the RAF $10 off a discount.
One question I have though is how long does it take Directv to process your order and for you to receive a confirmation email and website link Directv said they would send through email to enroll in all of my rebate discounts. Which they recommended I should take care of and do before my install date.I also checked my bank account online and didn't see that Directv has charged me yet for the DVR HMC and processing fee.
My install date is scheduled for 06-30 between 12PM to 4PM
I'm really excited and honestly the sales rep was nice & easy to talk. I'm just hoping that during my contract agreement with Directv that I don't experience the horror customer service reports that a lot of people have been posting online due to billing or technical issues with their service with Directv.
I'll also mention that I just left AT&T U-Verse for Directv and it was mainly for these reasons:
-Living in San Diego and not having Fox Sports San Diego to watch my Padres even though they are dreadful to watch right now
AT&T U-Verse and to nobody's surprise Time Warner Cable are in a nasty contract dispute on how much FSSD should be charging each company to carry the new regional sports channel.
-Getting NFL Sunday Ticket For Free for the first year at least is great.I am a big football fan even though I don't support the Chargers or any particular team.I am a huge fantasy football player and play in at least 2 separate leagues each season.
-The #1 reason though is I am a die hard & life long Laker fan and I know that they will be launching a new regional TV network starting this season. The new regional TV network is with TWC and is suppose to be offered to TWC competitors and to people in LA, Socal, Orange County, San Diego, and I think even people in Las Vegas. I am actually happy with the new regional TV network is launching because now I won't need to waste $189 or $99 a year on either the TV version of NBA League Pass or NBA League Pass Broadband just to watch about 15 to 20 non nationally televised Laker road games. My fears were that AT&T U-Verse would get into another nasty contract dispute like what is going on right now with Fox Sports San Diego.
-Lastly price wise I'm actually paying less for more programming compared to what I had with AT&T U-Verse.
