Does anyone know -

I currently have 2 - 942s and get KCBS HD on sat 148. If I replace one of the 942s (MPEG 2) with a 6xx (MPEG 4) and move the second dish from sat 148 to sat 129 will the remaining 942 be able to recieve an MPEG 2 version of KCBS HD from sat 129.

Thanks

It would appear from the (unofficial) Dish channel chart that you are good to go. It does not show that KCBS on 129 is MPEG4. I hope the chart is right.

OOPS, maybe not. It is listed as ch6307 on 129 and I just tried to pick that channel up with my 921 and it failed. Must be on a spot beam for LA only. I live in the SF area and have both 129 and 148 so don't have this problem.:sure:

I don't know where Venture CA is but if you are near LA and get the LA locals, you still should be ok. Just remember that signals from the 129 satellite are not as good, or reliable as those from other satellites due to its footprint.
