Outdoor Channel migrates from digital to analog tier

The Outdoor Channel signed a carriage deal with cable company Knology to distribute TOC to expanded basic subscribers across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida. Already completed in some markets, the move to expanded basic is expected to add more than 100,000 customers to the TOC viewing family.

On Aug. 31,TOC migrated from Knology's digital to analog service in Columbus, GA. The same move is set to take place in Huntsville, Alabama sometime this month followed by the digital to analog jump in Panama City, Fla. in November. Later this year, TOC will move from Knology's digital to analog service in Montgomery, Ala. and will launch to a new market in Pinellas County (FL).

Knology Director of Marketing and Programming Michael Thompson said The Outdoor Channel offers "substantial value" to the company serving a large and passionate outdoor lifestyle community.
