Since Friday, KOVR has been having sound & picture problems.mocciat said:I was trying to watch the colts game on KOVR 13 out of Sacramento and it had no sound the last minute or so now the game is over and still no sound. The SD channell is ok. Anyone else having this problem?
Thanks for that info. Always nice to hear why some isssues pop up out of nowhere. Just did a Menu reset and sound is still missing. I'll just watch a different channel till they get sound back. NFL is over for the day.veryoldschool said:Since Friday, KOVR has been having sound & picture problems.
This has been an on going problem for them. You might want to contact the engineering manager: Robert P Heiss [email protected]
this channel is badHolmesCo said:Yes this channel in general seems to be quite lacking. Same problem for me, I jsut wne to ota and it was fine, which puzzles me. same broadcast isn't it? Anyway Ch13 is quite odd I think, last week I had no video or audio from it.
And someday they may actually start doing a bit more HD, but then again maybe not.
This was a DirecTV problem and did not originate at KOVR. I check the AVS Forum daily for these kinds of reports, either in the DBS thread or Sacramento local thread. I'll also try to check over here. We have all of the contacts at DirecTV to expedite these fixes if we know about them.mocciat said:I was trying to watch the colts game on KOVR 13 out of Sacramento and it had no sound the last minute or so now the game is over and still no sound. Bob, I and I'm sure others appreciate your checking the forums. Can you give me some idea when you will do more HD. It seems like there is less on your channel than 3 or 10, though they all could use more!. I guess 3 is getting close to going hd with the news, local shows etc. This is all going too slow!Bob Hess said:This was a DirecTV problem and did not originate at KOVR. Confirmed. Turned on CSI NY and the local break looked fine. Once normal programming started again, the break up was so bad it became unwatchable.packfan909 said:EDIT: I just noticed on a station break that the picture and signal issues corrected themselves. But when programming switches back to the network the signal goes downhill again.
Is everyone else noticing the same thing
Same issue here. Thanks Bob. I emailed you this week about the audio issues glad to see you here on the forum.packfan909 said:Hi Bob,
Can you have your contacts at DirecTV deal with the pixelation issues that were experienced all night. Reminds me of a poor OTA signal but know better. I can get a perfect signal watching your OTA signal.
Not your domain but FOX40 has been a problem as well. Picture almost snowy if that is even possible. Very poor performance on the Sacramento locals. Is this something at the uplink location for D*? Or is it at their transmission location.
Getting to be very frustrating.

All HD material on KOVR and KMAX is fed by the CBS and CW networks. At this point in time, we have been building up our HD infrastructure but do not expect to see any HD news on KOVR or KMAX in 2007. We we do it, it will be everything and not just a few cameras.HolmesCo said:Bob, I and I'm sure others appreciate your checking the forums. Can you give me some idea when you will do more HD. As of about Noon today, DirecTV tells me they have corrected the problem.packfan909 said:Hi Bob,

Yes I echo the others, thanks for giving some input. And I realize I may have sounded like I think your channel is lacking, no offense intended, I know its the networks that you have to rely on.Bob Hess said:All HD material on KOVR and KMAX is fed by the CBS and CW networks.
