LA HD Locals on mpeg-4 spot beam 103

I think I've managed to google enough decifer the posts here.

I'm in Orange County (Southern California) and we have has some heavy winds this past week. I've been losing my HD local channels from the spotbeam: 2 KCBS, 4 KNBC, 7 KABC and 11 KTTV. Strangely channel 5 KTLA has been coming in fine. And the other spot beam locals are also good.
Of course, I can receive these on the higher number channels, the "Conus" national beam.

Research says these channels are on the 103 satelite (spaceway 1):

And my signal strength on 103 sucks. Transponder 1 is in the 30s and transponder 2 is sometimes 0 and sometimes in the 20s. The other 4 transponders that are active all read 0.

So I'm guessing the 4 channels I'm missing are on the same transponder probably? Maybe transponder 2 on the 103 satelite? I saw some posts indicating there are 4 HD MPEG-4 channels per transponder... if true this would explain my missing 4 channels as a group.

I've arranged for the D* contractor to come out and re-aim my dish. I expect this will solve the problem. But can anyone shed any more light on the issue? It would help to know exactly what to check when the tech comes to fix the dish aiming.

I'm also hoping this will help with my occasional missed recordings on the H20! Having the feed corrupted occasionally might explain alot.

If you have a strong signal on sat 101 and 119 then a realign will not correct the problem. Something else must be wrong. Could be bad LNB. Let us know how the service call works out.
i agree. get a service call to check your dish, either LNB or aim on it.
Is the idea that the 103 satelite should just fall into place between the 101 and 119? Does the dish really align like that?

If 101 is aligned correctly, 99 and 103 will be good. If it is off just a bit, 101, 110 and 119 might still get a good signal but not 99 or 103.
Service call just happened, and this is the best my signal strength has ever been. My locals are back. I'll be very interested to see how things work now!
